That Was Wicked Awesome

Well, they are right. We went last night and it was incredible. I read the book about a month ago and I really liked it, but felt the ending was sorely lacking. I loved the literary themes and political undertones and I was enchanted by the whole concept of the novel... and then felt completely dumped on. Poor Elphaba was so desperate for any meaning or purpose to her sad life, only to have Dorothy melt her face off. No resolution for Elphie or me. Sad.
The musical was everything I wanted the book to be. And it was amazing.

Happiness Laptopified

Funny that my sister, Michelle commented today that maybe Blaine will love me enough to buy me a new laptop (or something to that effect)... because today Blaine brought me home an early Mother's Day present.
He was able to buy the same MacBook Pro that he had to give back to "the man". Today I love "the man", and more importantly--I love my man for pulling some strings and making this happen. I am so excited I can hardly stand it. No more searching for a wireless signal. No more holding the speaker cord just right. No more sticky mouse buttons. No more nonexistent battery. No more crappy memory.
The best part of this special surprise was that he wrapped it (because he knows how much I love unwrapping presents) and the sweet card Blaine wrote me, where he included this awesome quote: "Other men said they have seen angels, but I have seen thee and thou are enough." I think I must have won some jackpot in heaven because frankly, I don't think I deserve to be this happy.
I love you too, Blaine.

Sheer Bliss

There's nothing better than driving with the top down, the sun shining, good company, a classic blaring, and a cold drink.
(By "top down", I mean sunroof open... by "good company", I mean Jake... by "classic", I mean Georgia Satellites... and by "cold drink", I mean Diet Coke.)
Hey, the sun was really shining. And it felt awesome.
I love my life.

Bully
And I love her.
She keeps beating me up everyday in my basement and I keep on going back for more. I just can't get enough of the pain, I guess.
She's pretty hard-core.
And I feel pretty hard-core when I crawl back upstairs a little more bruised and a little stronger everyday.
...
...
I'd blame Jake, but I love the little bugger and respect motherhood, childbirth, and breast-feeding too much to do that.
...
...
Speaking of "bull":
I can't help but feel antagonistic toward these "celebrity moms" who seemingly bounce back to bodacious bodies after 8 weeks of giving birth. Yeah, right. Like we believe that you are taking care of your darling baby 24-7 without a nanny or two, a wet nurse, a nutritionist, a personal trainer, and an army of beauty consultants.
Bully-crap.
...
Seriously.

Sunshine? Fun at The Gateway.
While the Carters were in town last week, we spent a sunny day at The Gateway Mall. It was so nice, that some of us (Jack) got soaked playing in the Olympic fountain. I feel kind of nostalgic looking at these pictures--remembering our nice short-lived weather we had.

Sad

Blaine informed me (a little too casually) today that the ride is over; the MacBook Pro has to go back. The man wants it. And I'm sad.
