Don't Quit Your Dye Job

The other day I dyed my hair. This is nothing new. I've been dying it myself {or paying someone else to do it for me} since I was in my very early twenties. I vividly remember one specific time when the stylist asked, "How concerned are you with covering this gray?" And I replied with, "How concerned am I that I am 23 years old??!!?" Scary stuff. Anyway, although this whole dying thing is old news, it hit me {again} that it will be my M.O. for the rest of my natural life. Boo. Premature gray-ness blows big time.

  2. On the bright side, you have thick luscious locks! I would take gray over baldness any day!

  4. I had a classmate in grad school whose mother came as a guest speaker. Her mom looked quite a bit younger than her. Like a lot younger. Like it was kind of awkward for everyone. From then on, I vowed to never look older than my mother if I could help it! :)

  5. At least you have some consolation in the fact that your little sister is just as gray as you are.

And who in their right mind is voting for original Oreos over double stuffed??? I made the switch and my life has never been the same.

  9. At least you're not the loser who ACTUALLY had hurt feelings when a random stranger-customer asked me if "my hair has a little red in it".

  11. I'm throwing my two cents in here and agreeing that at least you have thick beautiful hair. Judging from genetics, you will be stuck with gray hair till the day you dye (pun intended) but you will also be blessed with a lot of it.

  14. Grey for you or just really ugly ash blond for me. Either way, we are doomed to spend loads of money on our hair the rest of our days. At least yours is thick and gorgeous and not thinning every day.

PS - Brian started going grey on the mish. He feels your pain but I love his salt and pepper.

  15. I totally relate to your post! I've been dye-ing my hair since I was 25...and now dye it every 3-4 weeks. I refuse to look old...or be old, for that matter! I'm not even sure what my real hair color is? Anyway, Power to the dye baby! Color beats gray anyday!!!!
