Bob

This is my dad with his best friend, Bob Hill. Bob's been in and out of the hospital for a bit lately, but is home now. *phew*

I love that my dad made a special visit to see Bobby. {Plus, it was kind of awesome to get to see my dad while he was in town.}

Anyway, during my visit with Bob, I snapped this picture of the buddies. The Hills were our neighbors where I grew up in W.J. and they are the best. I have so many memories of babysitting their kids, and of my dad and Bob playing some crazy-competitive versions of ping-pong or basketball. They used to play H.O.R.S.E. late into the night, except their version of it was B.U.T.T.H.E.A.D. ...Yeah. :)

Anyway, when my dad got a call from another friend of his, Bob {who is easily one of the funniest people I've ever known}, confided in me -with a sneaky grin on his face- that he doesn't like my dad having other friends.

Bob: Who is this guy Chuck?

Me: Oh, his buddy from Portland. They work together.

Bob: I don't think I like him having other friends outside of my universe.

Me: Oh, don't worry, Bob.

Bob: Do they play B.U.T.T.H.E.A.D. together?

Me: laughing

Bob: I'll bet they play S.W.E.E.T.H.E.A.R.T.

  1. I don't think I heard the end of that conversation before now. :-) Oh, Bob. Another favorite would be the threat of "DEACON McConkie"...

    I love this picture.

  2. This is another epic story to file away! Love it. That is funny. I think that is cool of your pops to drive out, too. He is a good man!

  4. Why was Bob in the hospital if you don't mind me asking. I think the last time I ran into them was at your wedding. Such a great couple.
