Love Song
So, this is a little cheesy.
But, it IS a James Bond song.
Which makes it bitchin'.
An oldie, but goodie.
Check it out... I love this song.
Happy Valentine's Day.

Be Mine
The older I get, the cooler Valentine's Day is.
I'm off for some {alone} Target time and a massage.
My husband is the greatest. Ever.
You're the best Valentine I've ever had, Blaine.

Vain?
I am going through and organizing some older pictures in an attempt to begin what I'm calling, "The Great Photobook Project of 2011", and I've realized something about myself: I used to either A) be a lot more vain than I am now, or B) be much better looking than I am now. I'm guessing that both are true, because there are far more pictures of myself from my past than there are in my present. Sure, I can say that it's because I am always the one behind the camera now, but that's been the case for my entire adult life. I always had my camera on me (35 mm, baby!)... Hmmmm.
P.S. What in the world was wrong with me that I used to think I looked fat in this picture? Ugh. To fit into those jeans again right now. *sigh* ... And have that flat tummy again. *double sigh*

Feeling Nostalgic
Today, I needed to go to the "lady doctor" {ew.} and eye doctor... sans kiddos. So, rather than take the "family car" {or, "Jakey's car", as it's most often called around here.} I strapped myself into the '96 Plymouth Neon and scooted out of here.
Apparently, driving the Neon is similar to riding a bike. Because, while I did struggle a little bit with exactly how much gas-pedal-ratio is needed on the clutch, I caught on quickly. As I zipped along toward my destinations, the years melted away and I found myself channeling my former twenty-five-year-old self. All the elements were there: Neon, Diet Coke, purse {NOT a diaper bag}, window rolled down for a nice breeze, and good, loud classic tunes--although they weren't the same"troubled, sad-relationship tunes" I used to listen to when I was twenty-five, the feeling was the same... No, it was better.
Because, as much as I loved my life at twenty-five {No, really. I did.} The nostalgia was just nostalgia. Nothing more. Nothing less. And it was the absolute best to get back home, park the Neon, and walk up to my front door while waving to my happy two-year-old and hubby in the living room window.
{And, no. I'm not pregnant.} :)

Cousins, cousins, cousins
Last Mother's Day, we were supposed to give Mom a picture of the grand-kids. That didn't happen, so we thought we'd shoot for Christmas. That didn't happen either, so we called it a Valentine's Day thing. {Good thing the Christmas outfits are red.}
Rich
I haven't posted lately because I recieved the following email recently and am busy spending all my money. I don't have the money yet, but I am sure I will get it. This Wong guy is legit. Why else would he send me the same message six times in the same email?... And, I am sure he is really smart. He writes so well and includes references for the natural disaster that has destroyed my family's namesake.
So, grieve for me. I am suffering a great loss. But this loss is awesome too. Who wants to come see my new house/boat/cars/pool?

Hello, February
So, it's February.
And January wasn't so bad after all.
This year I am really trying to better my post-Christmas-winter attitude.
I mean, there is a lot to enjoy... like, anniversaries, birthdays, and Valentine's Day.
Welcome, February.
Because, even though the temperature is seriously freezing outside today, the sky is blue, the sun is shining, and I'm feeling very cozy dreaming about pink and red hearts.
I think I may even take up knitting again.
