Crush

I was just talking to my brother-in-law, Sean, telling him that I think Jake has a crush on Dora... Sean said, "Who wouldn't? She's a young Lara Croft!"

Pals

Gosh... I love this kid.

I feel like Jake and I are at this point where we are pals. I've always felt close to him, but lately it just feels like I'm less his "care-taker" and more his buddy.

He's my best little friend and I love hanging with him. I like to think we are a good team... and it's a little bit sad to me that things are going to change here for us.

Not that I can't wait to meet baby girl Carter. I'm just sad that it won't be just Jake and me anymore.

I don't doubt that I will love Sarah immediately or even that I will love her any less... but it's like I told Jakey while I was putting him to bed the other night...
I loved him first.

Not funny.

Apparently it's not as funny as I think it is to call Blaine at 1:00 AM while he is out of town, wake him up in a dead stupor, and tell him that I am "totally in labor".
I thought it was hilarious.

Buddies

Katrina and I have been friends since we were three years old when my parents moved down the street from the Robinsons in 1982. We are about two months apart in age and I've considered her family ever since we bonded over Barbie dolls.

Fast forward about 28 years... we are still best friends and although we live states away from each other, I think about our friendship all the time.

Here are our boys: Jake and Preston. They are about three months apart in age and I have high hopes and big dreams that they can someday be college roommates... or at the very least, pen-pals.

It was great to see you this week, Katrina. As always, it's never long enough and I miss seeing you every day. Hopefully, we can meet up this summer in Cali. :)

Easter/Conference Weekend

It was a really great weekend...

Jake loved making and eating pancakes Saturday morning while watching Conference.
He got this little bowl and big spoon all on his own. It was hilarious and awesome.

As for Easter morning... yes, the Easter bunny came to our house. (Though I really can't understand why I didn't take any pictures. Dumb.)
Jake loved his basket, his little treats, books, bouncy balls, bubbles, and eggies filled with jelly beans and m&m's. He couldn't eat them fast enough.
He also loved finding and collecting the dyed eggs and giving them to Daddy one at a time.
It was pretty cute.

We loved having Easter dinner at our place this year.
Scott, Megan, and Brett: we'll never play Scrabble the same way again.
Brent and Markelle (and Jack): I'm still dreaming about that strawberry pie. Yum.
Thanks for coming guys!

SLC Walkabout

So, last week my photography class
(all four of us),
took a little walking photo tour of downtown Salt Lake City.
Enjoy...
(Or not--whatever.)

Twinners

Lizzy's baby boys (Sam and James) are due May 15th... so with Katrina in town and all the girls available, we got together to celebrate.
Liz and B.J. have waited a long time for these boys and I just couldn't be happier about their arrival.
Plus, two boys just means that my little girl will get her pick of handsome Pulver men.
Can't wait!

Liz, Rochelle, Dottie and Ange.

Lovely hostess, Emily and Cali-girl, Katrina.
