Oh, it's a Jolly Holiday with Jake and Sarah...

For Halloween this year I had cowboy costumes (matching chaps and vests!) that my mom made for my little brothers ready to go for Jake and Sarah. I was going to put Sarah in a pink hat and boots and we were set for a little cowboy and cowgirl. Then, the kids got really into Mary Poppins-- particularly Sarah girl... She is a girl after my own heart and she adores Mary. She put on a "pretty dress" and picks it up around her hips just like Mary and dances all around the family room to "Steppin' Time", "Jolly Holiday", and all the rest. It's adorable.
So, obviously I had to make these costumes for the kiddos. I got the tutorials off Pinterest and the rest is history. They were a pain... especially Jake's Bert jacket. But they were totally worth it. The kids loved it and so did I.

This one is my absolute favorite.

Sarah wouldn't stop dancing... and poor Jakey broke his cane during the shoot.

This was right after he broke his cane... poor little guy was trying to be brave and smile after I completely lost my cool.

These last two are right before trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. (I LOVE my neighborhood!)

...With a sort-of-taped-together cane for Bert.

Happy Halloween!

My Dad is 60!

We had an impromptu 60th birthday party for my dad last month. We had originally planned on having it in November, but due to conflicting schedules, we moved it up a month. I wish we had been able to plan it a little better, but the old guy has a lot of people that must like him. He had quite the turn out and it was a lot of fun.

Brad, Blaine, and Travis.

Brett.

Lisa, Robby, Mom, Robyn, and Megan.

Guy and Kristin (plus their twins), and Jason.

Dad with Rick and Jan (my Dad's sister).

Jon and Jake.

Ashlee and Jeff.

Sarah and Blaine.

I am loving being preggers with Laurel (due in January).

A little less-scary version of me.

My perfect Dad.

I've always been amazed by my dad's ability to blow out all his candles.

The Leavitts (and Laurel).
Jack, Guy, Adam, Sadie, and Kristin.

My Dad's awesome present from Lisa.
Seriously awesome pajama pants.

Reading some top ten lists  out loud.

My dad and Bob Hill have been besties for years.
I love these guys.

Jeff, Miles, Lisa, Mom, and Ashlee.

Happy Birthday Dad!
(Which is today, by the way.)
You are my hero in so many ways. I am so proud to be your daughter.
Thanks for being my perfect Dad.
I love you.

Fire Station Field Trip

For the letter F, our little Pre-school group headed to our very own Herriman Fire Station. It was so cute and my little Jake was such a quiz-master.
Love him.

It was fun to have all the kids' siblings around. Even our older kids could come since they were off track.

"Stop. Drop. Roll."

Pulling on the pole to open up the ceiling.

Jake asking every question he could think of.

Sweet little faces.

Getting a demonstration of fireman's clothes.

Our hosts/tour guides were so amazing. They were so sweet to the kids and were very accomodating.

Lining up to get on the fire truck.

We love our fire-fighters!
