This kid

This kid is THREE today.
...

And while I was crazy-in-love with him three years ago, I am more in love with Jake today than ever.
He is so much of who I am.
He owns a big part of my heart.
I'm so proud to be his mom.

The other day I walked into the living room and found this little scene. Jake was routinely setting up his cars, but giving them all little fish treats too.
I love everything about this picture. Including the Cabela's ad he was perusing while playing.

Jake has a great imagination. I love listening to him play.

This last one is blurry, but it has to be here.
Jake is so happy and smart. He's also getting to be quite the social butterfly. We love it.

We were just talking last night about how impressed we are with Jake's verbal skills. He is a great little conversationalist. He talks non-stop. It's awesome... most of the time :)

I often hear parents talk about how their kids "melt" their hearts... I think the way I feel this emotion is a little different. I feel my heart swelling during these kind of moments. As if my heart is actually getting bigger and softer.

Gosh, I love this little boy.

I love Jake so much! I know what you mean about your heart swelling. I've often felt the same sensation when thinking of those I love. I guess we have something in common with the Grinch when our hearts grow like that. That and the kilt thing.

I love this Alicia. Happy bday to the big boy! ...And, just as a side note, your house is way too clean for 2 kids. I need to live near you and learn something...

ahhh, we love our little jakey! He is such an adorable man to chat with. I love having a conversation with him and hearing his creative responses! We loved the bday party and all the chaos that came with it! I just love observing all the extreme joy that the wee ones find in the simplest of things!
